Pioneer Valley Books Launches New Website

In my book, collaboration is a crucial part of any successful website design project and the I Love to Read site that went live last May is a perfect example of a collaborative project done right.
When Pioneer Valley Books (PVB) first approached me to help with the project, they wanted to work together on creating a strategy and website design that targeted parents. As a national leader in educational books for children, PVB is well known among teachers, but less so among parents. They wanted to more clearly convey their brand to this new demographic and ultimately, to sell books to them.
We started at the beginning, with design wireframes and moved on from there. The PVB team was involved throughout the process and the Magento expert firm Knectar was also a crucial partner. The new site was built using the industry-leading Magento Ecommerce platform, and we collaborated closely with Knectar around the design and structure of the site, especially as it related to Magento functionality.
And we had fun along the way. We thought through ideas for interactive features and built well-thought-out user interfaces for features such as the site's innovative book finder tool.
And ultimately, we created a website that clearly conveys who Pioneer Valley Books is. It's too early to tell about results (sales data isn't available for the site yet), but the initial response to the site seems to be pretty dang positive.
