The Key Hypnosis Launches New Website
filed under: News, Website Design
What a treat it was to meet and work with Julie Ann Kibe, owner of The Key Hypnosis. Her weight-loss hypnosis program encourages participants to take initiative, and learn about their body and their relationship with food. Julie's clients are highly successful with weight loss, as well as recovering their overall health. Always up for a chance to help others do good work, I couldn't wait to get started.
A New Look
The original Key Hypnosis site was rather outdated. No color, no images, and just a few lines of contact information. One of the main goals of this project was to aesthetically capture the vibrancy and professionalism that owner Julie Ann Kibe exudes in herself and her sessions. Because we had a lack of items to work with I brought in a professional photographer and videographer into the project. This combined with working directly with the client on the written content had us going in the right direction.
Our goal to capture the aesthetics was accomplished by using the photos and videos, energetic colors that match the client's session space, and incorporating modern fonts and layouts.
New Functionality
The Key Hypnosis also needed the ability to add content to their site. The catch was that the CMS had to be super easy to use because of the limited time they had to devote to any technology learning curve. To meet this challenge I installed a custom version of Expression Engine that gave them the ability to easily edit all content, manage video testimonials and manage the slideshow without involving me. Once Julie saw how easy it was to update content she agreed to post a new recipe of her own each time a clients used the system to submit one.
Additionally, the Key Hypnosis clients and future clients are able to interact with the company through FAQ submissions and joining the waiting list. Within a week of launch the Key Hypnosis website had almost 100 people signed up on the waiting list
Because we want this site to last a while it was imperative that we dealt with the mobile population that comes to their site. The site was programmed using responsive web design techniques so that it adapts to the screen size that the user is holding. Mobile friendly? Check!
Moving Forward
I like to think of websites as living things instead of projects that are "done" after launch. Julie and the Key Hypnosis staff are already making updates to their site. In fact, this morning I added a Facebook recommendation button which has already been accessed 164 times. Keeping a site fresh is important, but it's even more important to go about it in a intelligent way. From here out we'll be keeping a close eye on the site's Google Analytics and make changes based on what we're seeing in terms of conversions, traffic and user behavior.
