Gore Place Launches New Website
filed under: News, Website Design
We're thrilled to announce that Gore Place launched a new website this week.
Gore Place is a unique 19th-century estate and grounds near Boston, and when we started working together, their old website wasn't getting much traffic and user engagement was down.
As with all of our website redesign projects, the project began with a discovery phase - we completed competitor research, sent out a user survey and conducted keyword research. Next, we developed a new content model and wireframes, and created a website design based on the client's specific goals. All of this work was done in close collaboration with Gore Place staff.
During the development phase of the project, we conducted an ExpressionEngine CMS training with the client so that they were comfortable entering content directly on the new website. The site was built using SEO-friendly coding and responsive design so that it renders correctly regardless of the device that it's viewed on. Accessibility was also an important focus for this client and the new website meets WCAG AA accessibility standards, one of few museum websites to accomplish this.
Now that the new website is live, we'll soon begin working with the client on a second phase of the project, one that focuses on digital marketing and ongoing SEO support.
