Chandler Architectural Products Launches New Website
September 01, 2016 filed under: News, Website Design
When I began working with Chandler Architectural Products earlier this year, their existing website wasn’t doing a great job of highlighting the high-end architectural work that they do. Their commercial glass and glazing work includes an impressive resume of past projects ranging from the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts and the Trail Court Building in Plymouth, Mass to Ford Hall on the Smith College campus and many more. Their existing website wasn’t showcasing the projects effectively and it wasn’t bringing in any new business leads.
One of the first steps in our redesign work together was to redefine the website’s content model so that it more effectively highlighted Chandler’s exceptional work. High-quality imagery was key and we arranged photo shoots of the individual project sites, as well as of company staff. The result was an engaging, imagery-rich look and feel that really shows off who Chandler is and the work that they do.
Given that Chandler’s staff is often working out in the field, the new website also needed to include a section for employees that would help keep everyone in the loop about goings on at the company. To achieve this, we created a password-protected employees-only section that includes an employee news feed, the employee handbook and other important staff info.
On the Expression Engine front, we used our regular go tos: Structure for navigation, WYGWAM's text editor, CE Image to make it a cinch for company staff to upload images and Freeform for the site’s contact forms.
Before go live, we conducted our usual content audit, reviewing all site content and functionality to make sure it was in tip top shape before go live.
The results? A website that Chandler staff say was exactly what they were looking for and that is already starting to generate new leads!
